Final Year Project

My story ‘Connections’, visually explores the emotional and invisible link which can bring two people together. This ‘something’ which connects people can be coincidental or not. It has the power to create unbreakable friendships, no matter how contrasting individuals may be. My animation follows the paths of two characters who begin the story living apart in two different worlds.

My initial inspiration for this piece came from a strong bond which my friend and I created through many years of dancing together. Despite long distances and life’s difficulties our friendship has remained strong ever since. I have explored the techniques of traditional animation, combining hand-drawn imagery and compositing those drawings digitally, to tell my story.

This animation was originally intended for two screens. The girl on the right side and the boy on the left.
